​Light makes our life shine

Our group pursues to understand the light-matter interaction at the nano-/micro-scales and find a new light-related phenomenon.

Based on the novel light phenomena, we are on a mission to advance new photonic materials and next-generation optoelectronics for the contributions to the fields of energy, security, sensing, bio-medical devices, and imaging systems.

Specifically, our research encompasses from photonic material level (e.g., nanophotonics and metasurfaces)  to optical device/system level (e.g., energy-saving systems and bio-inspired imaging systems).

We imagine our future society full of safety and prosperity by the light-related technologies.


Artificial amphibious vision sees all

An amphibious artificial vision system with a panoramic field of view can be created by mimicking the compound eyes of fiddler crabs. The artificial visual system consists of a flat-microlens array with a flexible comb-shaped Si photodiode array on a spherical structure.
